To provide our AI-powered resume services, we collect information you provide directly to us:
Account Information: Name, email address, and authentication data provided through Clerk.
Resume Data: Any text, files, or information you upload or type into our platform for optimization.
Job Descriptions: The text of job advertisements you provide for the purpose of resume tailoring.
Short-Link Data: Destination URLs, requested aliases, creation timestamps, aggregate click counts, and last-access timestamps for links created through our public short-link tool. Click analytics also use separate daily totals for broad device, browser, and traffic-source categories, without storing visitor identities, IP addresses, raw browser identifiers, or referrer URLs in those analytics.
Operational Data: Network and request information used to secure the service and enforce usage limits. For short-link creation limits, we store a one-way hash of the source identifier rather than the raw address.

We use your information to:
Generate tailored resumes and cover letters using AI.
Manage your credits and subscription through our payment providers.
Maintain your application history and saved resumes.
Improve our AI prompts and platform performance.
Create and operate short-link redirects, measure aggregate use, prevent abuse, and disable unsafe links.
3. AI Data Processing
VexDocs Jobs uses the Google Gemini API to process your resume and job descriptions. Your data is sent to Google's servers for the sole purpose of generation. We do not use your personal resume data to train global AI models.
4. Data Retention
We store your resumes and history as long as your account is active. You may delete your saved resumes or history items at any time through the dashboard. Public short links and their operational metadata may remain stored until the link is disabled or removed.
